Problem

Palestine has been illegally occupied at the hands of colonial settler state Israel since 1948. Mainstream media portrays this occupation as an equal war, painting Palestinians as barbaric. This perpetuates negative stereotypes about Palestinians and Arabs in general.

Sketches & Mind Mapping

I started off by looking at some images of the Israeli “Offense” Forces assaulting Palestinians. I, then, looked up images of Palestinian elderly women wearing the traditional Palestinian embroidered thob.

My goal was to show what the media conceals. I sketched some different iterations of both individuals and then combined them into one story.

This poster was published with Inked Islamic Resistance Publishing House in their latest book, Voices in Solidarity with Gaza.
